About
Pocket Throttle started as a group chat where a few friends kept sending each other links to weird little racing games. At some point we figured we should just write things down instead of losing them in a scroll of messages. So here we are.
We play on our own phones, with our own thumbs, usually on the train or during lunch. That matters, because a game that feels great on a tablet in a quiet room can fall apart when you're standing on a bus. We try to test in the conditions people actually play in.
Games get picked for a mix of reasons: something looks fun, a reader flags it, or one of us can't put it down. We don't run through a checklist of trending titles. If a small arcade game surprises us, it gets a write-up over a big name that bored us.
Nobody pays us to like something. When a game annoys us we say so, and when it clicks we try to explain why without turning into cheerleaders.
